Preparation of PQR Service

Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) is an important document in welding that records the actual test results obtained when a specific welding procedure is tested. Inspection & Testing Engineers (ITE) is one of the best PQR Service provider. It serves as evidence that a Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) will produce sound welds that meet the required mechanical and metallurgical properties for a given application. In the PQR there is the detailed information about metal testing such as general information PQR number or ID, Date of welding and testing, Material specification and type, Thickness and diameter, Joint design and preparation, welding process, test results and remarks and notes. This information is very essential in various metal industries.

The Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) is a detailed information about the welding parameters used during the test weld, such as base materials, filler metals, joint design, welding process, position, current, voltage, travel speed, and preheat/interpass temperatures. The results of these tests are recorded in the PQR, and if they meet the applicable code or standard (e.g., ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1), the procedure is considered qualified. This qualified Procedure Qualification Record then supports the WPS, allowing it to be used in production welding.
